Manually Marble Floor Polishing:

Marble floor polish can be done by hand with the components available at home.  However, care and precaution need to be taken as marble has a delicate and abrasive surface. Different methods can be adopted based on the kind of marble and the polishing solution used. This article furnishes you with tips for polishing natural and cultured marble flooring.

Cleaning Natural Marble Flooring:

Soak a sponge in a mild and gentle soap solution.  Rub it over the stained Natural marble flooring in circular motions and rinse well with normal water.  In case of stubborn and tough stains, a poultice would do the trick. 

Cleaning cultured Marble Flooring:

For this type, choose a non-abrasive household cleaner and rub the stains with the help of a nylon bristle brush. 

Polishing Natural Marble Flooring: 

Polishing natural marble flooring is simple and effortless.  All that is needed is a clean cloth, baking soda, and water.  Add 3  tablespoons of baking soda to a quart of water.  Soak the sponge well in this solution and rub it across the marble flooring.  Let it dry for at least 6 hours. In the case of cultured marble, choose special household compound solutions or formulas that are suitable for such flooring.  However, avoid those solutions that soften or break into the bonds, causing further damage. 

Once the polishing solution is dry on the marble flooring surface, buff it up with a clean cloth. Close up all holes, cracks, and gaps with the help of sealants. 

Marble floor polishing is possible manually only when care is taken to wipe away the stain immediately or when the marble installed is new. 

Marble floor Polishing by Machine:

Marble floor polishing can be done with the help of Diamond polishing discs with pads attached to it.  Electric sanding machines are also used for this purpose.  When handling the polishing of marble tiles with machines, it is crucial to do so with the protection of safety goggles, hand gloves, and masks. 

This prevents the inhalation of debris and marble dust and damage to the eyes and other health complications. Complete the polish look with the help of microfiber polishing pads that reach every inch or airline crack in the marble tiles.
