Tips for Contact Lenses

Contact lenses are an amazingly effective and delicate thing so you have to be very careful while wearing and removing the contact lenses. Follow these tips to have a smooth experience with your lenses.

  1. You should wear contact lenses after consulting a doctor. Doctors can suggest you the best lenses according to your eyesight.

  2. You should wear lenses that work best for your eyes and comes within your budget. Hard contact lenses can be used for a long period of time and if you want to avail soft lenses then you select the soft contact lenses bases on the types available:
  • Daily Wearable Contacts: These contacts are the cheapest and need to be cleaned daily.
  • Daily wear disposable contacts: This is a use-and-throw-one-time-use only.
  • Extended wear contacts: These contacts can be worn for a month and perfect for people who often forget to clean their lenses due to their busy schedules.
  • Disposable Lenses: These require no effort. These are highly expensive and can be used daily but you have to remove them every night before sleeping, and they last for weeks to months.
  1. Lenses are overly sensitive. Make sure to always wash your hands with mild soap and then dry them with lint free towel. As the bacteria from the tap water and the lint from the towel can stick to your lenses. Do not moisture your hand as soon as you have washed them wait until you have put your lenses.

  2. Do not mix up lenses whenever you remove them. Always start with the same eye for putting on and removing the lenses. Pull the lower eye lid to remove or put on the lenses and then gently blink your eyelids.

  3. Water and contact lenses do not go well together. Always clean your lenses with the solution provided to clean them. Water has some bacteria and other pathogens which may cause infections.

  4. Now a days there are many types of stylish cases available for your lenses. Make sure to clean them thoroughly every day and wipe them dry with a soft tissue paper or let it dry on its own. It is a good practice to change the case every 3 months.

Conclusion

Lenses can be highly beneficial if you know how to use them and take good care of contacts. If you buy lenses from the normal store without any prescription it can be highly dangerous but if you visit a doctor and buy prescribed lenses then it can help you in many ways and also keep your eyes healthy.
